On the centenary anniversary of his birth, the Acrobat label released this 50-track compilation of
Bing Crosby recordings, ranging roughly from the beginning of his career well into the postwar era. An oddly compiled set, however,
Centennial Collection 1903-1977 includes only a few of
Crosby's best-known recordings -- "Sunday, Monday or Always," "White Christmas," "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive," "Gone Fishin'," "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening" -- and saves most of its room for obscure choices from his movie songs of the '30s and '40s.
