Just one album-length release into their career, and already the
Mercury Rev catalog is a complete collector clusterf*ck. If you've got the U.K. version of
Yerself Is Steam with the Leggo My Ego bonus CD -- or the LP version of the same along with the "If You Want Me to Stay"/"Left-Handed Ray Gun of Paul Sharits" 7" for the Rough Trade Singles Club -- then you don't need this American EP headlined by "Chasing a Bee." Except you probably do, because the cover packaging is great, with its take-off on Columbia's reissue trade dress on the front and the inimitable
David Baker surrounded by a children's drum brigade on the back. And the Peel Sessions material is in the proper running order, not chopped up like on Leggo My Ego. Man, my head hurts.
