Earth to Andy's
Chronicle Kings manages to blend power-pop riffs with a touch of '80s hair-band bravado and a bit of '90s heavy rock. It's a mix that manages to be surprisingly fresh and engaging. Lead singer
Andy is a belter who possesses some of the vocal charisma of the late
Phil Lynott. The background harmonies are excellent, and give everything a tough, confident feel that works to the band's advantage. "Pollution," "The Buffalo," "Biting at My Heels," and "Sometimes" are among the catchy, crunchy standouts. The main flaw is that it all becomes a bit predictable after a while, but it hardly matters if all one wants is some good, hard ear candy. ~ Tom Demalon
