Les Go's combination of western production techniques and covers with African harmonies is reminiscent of 1999's hit duo,
Les Nubians. However, this group from the Ivory Coast has a sound all its own. Their lush vocals are backed by a series of acoustic and electronic instruments, though they could easily stand on their own. A cover of
Hall & Oates' "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," is intriguing, but the other music sung in their native language is equally compelling. Highlights include the opening track, "Siba," and the title track, "Dan Gna." ~ Stacia Proefrock
