Udo Jürgens attempts -- successfully -- to reinvent himself with
Einfach Ich, a collection of new songs that walked the lines between pop, chanson, country, and rock. While many of the ballads with their string arrangements and lush sonorities are reminiscent of his best work of the '80s, his more upbeat tunes reveal him to be in fine voice and in full grasp of his formidable singing and writing skills. ~ Thom Jurek
