Not quite as top-notch as the first
Flashback volume, but still a well-above-average compilation of Texas psych/punk, more consistent and eclectic than most garage anthologies.
The Outcasts' "I'm in Pittsburgh (And It's Raining)" is the closest American approximation of the
Pretty Things; the Chevelle V's "Come Back Bird" is the snappiest "Smokestack Lightning" ripoff ever attempted; the
Runaways' "18th Floor Girl" has some truly astral guitar scrapes and thunder of doom drumming; and
Jimmy Rabbit's "Pushover" is pop-punk of the first order.
