He's engaged to the King's heiress Lisa Marie Presley and sounds a lot like Beck, so might
John Oszajca get a break? Probably not, but this singer/songwriter's debut release
From There to Here is another quirky look into the mainstream scale of alternative rock of lackluster lyrics and layered guitar riffs. He does try to mix the formula a bit with the trip-hippie "Where's Bob Dylan When You Need Him?," but its comical nature is too lame. "Back in 1999" is jaunty but blah. He even gets a little soft on the Latin-rock "Valley of the Dolls."
Oszajca croons in his own gritty way, rockabilly guitars even spark things up a bit, but the originality is not there. There can only be one Beck in modern rock! ~ MacKenzie Wilson
