Go! Stories is the first full-length album
the Groovie Ghoulies have made in two years. What is unusual about this isn't the length between albums, but the length of the albums themselves. Only two songs crack the three-minute mark, and those barely last a few seconds more anyway. These are some short, direct songs about girls, TV, and acting dumb. They have almost totally dropped their fascination with monsters, but they have replaced it with a positive message that rails against fear and alienation and emphasizes self-confidence over all. The band retains the same naïve charm, changing very little musically or through their approach. But
the Groovie Ghoulies thrive on this sort of simplicity, and it is doubtful that anyone will miss their previous lyrical fascinations when they still have the same sound that they've always retained. Anyone who has heard the group before knows exactly what to expect, just understand that they have different things to sing about now.
