Lucia Hwong concluded her trilogy of
Goddess CDs with
Goddess Mystical Visions, Vol. 3. Anyone who isn't a seasoned new age enthusiast will find this CD to be the least accessible of the three, and that's because it is designed primarily for meditation. While the first two
Goddess releases were primarily instrumental,
Goddess Mystical Visions, Vol. 3 finds
Hwong providing a narration that is meant to accompany meditation and relaxation techniques. The world music influences are still there, and some of the melodies from
Goddess Celestial Realms, Vol. 2 are also used on
Goddess Mystical Visions, Vol. 3. But this time, the melodies don't stand alone; they're only there to serve
Hwong's narration--and unless you have an interest in meditation and new age activity, you'll feel left out. So while
Goddess Awakening, Vol. 1 and
Goddess Celestial Realms, Vol. 2 are enthusiastically recommended to world music lovers whether or not they consider themselves big new age fans,
Goddess Mystical Visions, Vol. 3 is strictly for the confirmed new age enthusiast. ~ Alex Henderson
