If you've got a yen for the most pop-oriented area of
Darin's repertoire, head for this disc, which presents 20 of his most mainstream Capitol outings from 1962 to 1965. Devoted to pop standards, over half of the tracks feature orchestras working under the conduction of
Billy May. It also has a bit more collector appeal than the typical volume of Capitol's
Spotlight series in that it contains six previously unreleased tracks, including versions of "Alabamy Bound," "I Got Rhythm," "I'm Sitting on Top of the World," and "All of You." ~ Richie Unterberger
