Some live albums sound like studio recordings that just happened to be made outside the studio. Not so with this album.
Helen Baylor...Live is a live album as it should be, especially live gospel.
Baylor delivers powerful vocals and impassioned testimony throughout the album. The audience is heard but not overwhelming, and the album feels less like a concert and more like a church service, which clearly is
Baylor's intention. She especially shines when backed by the Heritage Center Gospel Choir on the latter half of the album. Highlights of the album include her performance of
Rich Mullins' "Awesome God" and the "Worship Medley." ~ Melinda Hill
