Holes was the first full-length album by Canadian pop/rock band
the Midway State; an album that earned the band a 2009 Juno Award nomination for Pop Album of the Year. Though the album did not garner much buzz at the beginning, the band's consistent touring with large bands such as
Death Cab for Cutie and
Jimmy Eat World gave the band a large underground fan base, which helped the lead single of this album -- the only single of the album, "Never Again" -- reach the Top 20 of the Hot A/C chart, as well as the Canadian Hot 100.
