This is a belated reissue of a 2000 EP that was originally self-released in a tiny edition, and which would now be all but forgotten but for the fact that
From Here On's lead singer, Tommy Rogers, went on to form the far better-known
Between the Buried and Me. Not nearly so technically oriented as the chops-heavy
Between the Buried and Me,
From Here On was a more traditional noisecore band, with Rogers' shredded, hoarse vocals over the usual heavy unison riffing. Brief sections of acoustic guitar, much like Rogers' short spoken word interludes in the middle of songs, are only the barest respite from the onslaught. Only the album's relatively brief playing time of about 25 minutes keeps this adequate but uninspired post-hardcore from becoming completely monotonous. ~ Stewart Mason
