Shelly Burns has an appealing voice and a swinging style. She is not a major performer and there are times when her interpretations border on camp, but fortunately they do not cross the line and come across as sincere. The singer is assisted by pianist Bob Fylling, Shelley Denny on bass and trombone, and drummer
Ed Metz Jr., with appearances by
Burns' husband, guitarist Bill Dendle, and her son, clarinetist Ryan Coughran (on "I'll Never Be the Same"). Among the better selections are "A Fine Romance," "Let's Face the Music and Dance," and "The Way You Look Tonight." ~ Scott Yanow
