The heavy criticisms for his cinematic debut,
Zeiten Ändern Dich, didn't lessen German rapper Bushido's popularity, and his tenth studio album, Jenseits von Gut und Böse, reached the number one spot in the German, Austrian, and Swiss charts. Despite some gangster rap tracks reminiscent of his earlier work ("Cash Money Brothers"), the record presents a less aggressive, more introspective Bushido and even offers a number of ballads ("Du Bist ein Mensch") and love songs ("Gesucht und Gefunden"). Guests include
Swizz Beatz,
DJ Premier,
Booba,
J-Luv, and
Xavier Naidoo. Apart from the standard CD version, there is a "Premium" edition featuring two bonus tracks and a DVD with a 77-minute making-of documentary. The "3D Deluxe" edition features four bonus tracks, the making-of DVD, and a second CD with instrumental versions of the album tracks. ~ Christian Genzel
