Featuring a sound that is equal parts

Morrissey, rockabilly revivalists
King Kerosene bring together a ear for vintage production with a knack for melodic songcraft. Largely guided by the retro-minded picking of lead guitarist/vocalist Scott Murphy,
King Kerosene's debut album,
Just Warmin' Up, touches on such time-tested rocker themes as drinking, women, and more drinking. As such, unless you're a rockabilly scenester you're probably not going to get to "warmed up" over the lyrics. That said, fans of
Morrissey's solo work would do well to check out Murphy's take on melodic rockabilly. Tracks such as "Another Drink," "Fifteen Minutes," and "Evil Twin" deftly combine
Kinks-styled harmony with a down-home American twang. ~ Matt Collar
