Encouraged by the success of 2009's
Metamorfosis, Operación Triunfo alumni
Vega decided to up the ante for her fourth studio album,
La Cuenta Atrás.
Vega went to L.A. and hired, out of her own pocket, multiple Grammy-winning producer
Sebastián Krys (
Shakira,
Black Eyed Peas,
Gloria Estefan,
Enrique Iglesias,
Ricky Martin,
David Bisbal), as well as a team of seasoned studio pros such as
Abe Laboriel Jr.,
Chris Chaney,
David Levita,
Stevie Blacke, and Roger J. Manning Jr. The resulting album (soon picked up by Sony) is
Vega's most ambitious, personal, and potent work, a collection of driving pop tunes all written by the singer, led by the single "Como Yo No Hay Dos."
