Latino! is another of several Camden budget releases that fall between the awful bootleg/public-domain
Prado albums and the great recordings for Victor. Although old and old-sounding (not high-fidelity nor stereo), they do carry the excitement of authenticity, made as they were for a Mexican audience. "Anabacoa" features the voice of
Beny More, the "Prince of Mambo," who recorded extensively with
Prado. The Camden albums (except the alternates of U.S. Victor material) are useful for discovering the other sides of
Perez Prado. ~ Tony Wilds
