The Wedding Present were touring at a high point in 1991, having just released the monstrous (no pun intended) album Seamonsters and bringing some of the album's dark fury to their nightly sets. As a bonus to fans lucky enough to attend, the band was making soundboard-recorded cassettes of live shows and selling them at the venues and in fanzines. The two sets here were part of that series, one from a show in Sweden, the other from their Yorkshire home turf. The sound is excellent throughout, with David Gedge in typically fine vocal form and the band raging through songs from Seamonsters and giving previous Weddoes gems a rude kick in the monitors. Definitely for collectors only, but well worth the money and time spent listening, as the two discs spotlight the group at its absolute peak.
