The regional composer singer Juraildes DaCruz included only originals in this debut disc. The album is strongly sincere with its folkloric inspiration, and almost all instruments (performed by excellent musicians) are acoustic -- violin (
Zé Gomes), accordion (
Osvaldinho do Acordeon), flute (
Toninho Carrasqueira), violão (six and 12 strings by Natan Marques), bass (the only electric instrument, by
Arismar do Espírito Santo), percussion (Chica Brother), violoncello (Laura MacKnight), and others, such as viola caipira. Dealing with bucolic themes, the album emits an innocent quality, a sincere document of the life of the simple villages of upcountry Brazil. On
Lugar Seguro, the listener won't hear sambas and other known genres of Brazil, but will find viola, marchas, toadas, chamamés and other redneck (caipira) rhythms.
Zé Geraldo appears in one track.
