Más Allá del Perreo compilation boasts a dozen tracks by a community of likeminded artists, including Joel & Fernan, Melson, Menin Black, and Yamir & Delf. The production aesthetic is similar throughout, with heavy use of drum machines and spidery, synthesized strings reminiscent of Dirty South hip-hop teams like
Eightball & MJG. The rapping is pretty good, and the occasional singing is surprisingly melodic. Melson's contributions, including a self-titled dis called "M-E-L-S-O-N," are the only tracks that match the braggadocio of hardcore rap. Other good tracks come with the weekend anthem "Fin de Semana" by Yamir & Delf and "El Perro Baratito" by Menin Black. ~ John Bush
