Four years after her somewhat goth, somewhat
Gaga album
Mala, singer
Yolandita Monge returns with a more balanced effort, one that mixes rock and pop and falls right in line with her great 2007 release,
Demasiado Fuerte. Many of the instant highlights are pushed to the front with the hooky "Ahora Vivo Sin Tu Amor" and the electro-fueled single "Vivo por Ti" (it gets a moving acoustic reading later in the album) the obvious ones to pick, but like many of the later album highlights, "Desde Que Te Perdí" is both a slow builder and slow burner, with layers of guitars and strings supporting
Monge's expressive, powerful voice. All tracks are co-written by the singer and José Luis Pagán, and the album finds
Monge going the indie route by releasing it on her own imprint, Roma Entertainment. ~ David Jeffries
