A continuation of David Crowder's exuberant, mix-and-match approach to genre, Milk & Honey is the Christian artist's fourth solo album. It opens with "Good God Almighty," which became his first single to top the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. Merging pop, rock, and gospel, the song was produced by main album co-producers Ben Glover and Jeff Sojka. They and Crowder next juxtapose banjo and programmed beats on second track "In the House" before scaling things back for the piano ballad "He Is," and continuing in kind on a capricious 12-song set. Along the way, Milk & Honey includes collaborations with Hulvey ("Higher Power"), Dante Bowe ("God Really Loves Us"), and Maverick City Music ("God Really Loves Us," "Sweet Jesus").
