For 2013's
Vision Crimes/Monomania, the art rock punkers combine their
Vision Crimes EP and
Monomania EP into a single album. Taken from the same 2012 studio sessions, both of these
Child Bite albums flow together well and are equally crazed. Faster, angrier, and more angular than on previous releases, drummer Brandon Sczomak switched to guitar for these albums, and Moshe Rozenberg takes his place, to beat the living hell out of his kit. The whole band is relentless on this recordings, and while many aspects of the songs still recall no wave -- particularly the yowling vocals of Shawn Knight -- the musicianship matches the level ten aggression of post-hardcore metalcore acts like
Dillinger Escape Plan. ~ Jason Lymangrover
