Two of the most popular Mexican pop groups of the 1970s and ‘80s are teamed up on this compilation that features some of their biggest hits. Formed by Joel Solis and his cousin
Marco Antonio Solis,
los Bukis enjoyed a major hit with their debut album, 1975's
Falso Amor, leading to a long string of chart successes running well into the '90s. Meanwhile,
los Temerarios were also a family band, started by brothers Adolfo Angel and Gustavo Angel with their cousin Fernando Angel; performing in a strongly romantic style, they began recording as
los Temerarios in 1983 and have been one of the biggest draws on the Mexican concert circuit ever since.
Oro Grupero features ten songs each from the two bands and captures both at the height of their fame and their abilities. ~ Mark Deming
