There is an element of inspiration intrinsic to
Colors' music which is attributable to its members' passion for their music. This, their fourth CD, is another display of the down-to-earth, creamy vocal harmonies of
Ryan Merrill, Brian Tibbets, and
Russell Dixon. They've taken on new instrumentalists here, but their sound is still basically the same. "The Reggae Song" is a fun tune which reduces any risk of redundancy from the group, but don't expect to see dreadlocks anytime soon. "Soledad," a medley of thoughts about solitude, includes a very smooth transition of lyrics into Spanish and then back to English again. In fact, the transition is so smooth, you always know what the song is about, even if you don't speak Spanish. "Up All Night" is a bit more rambunctious than the group's usual venue; but of all the songs on the CD, it most enthusiastically expresses the group's enjoyment of their music.
