Particularly involved in contemporary music, Sharon Kam has premiered many works on stage, notably Penderecki’s Concerto (actually a revision of his Flute Concerto) which 1996 debut in Prague with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the composer conducting was quite an event then. Here is a live performance of this piece, now a standard of contemporary pieces for clarinet, with the same performers as the premiere. This recording includes other clarinet works such as the Miniatures, performed with Itamar Golan, or Lutosławski’s irresistible Dance Preludes inspired by the Polish folklore. © Warner Classics
