On their debut outing, hardcore-obsessed L.A. quartet
Obliterations deliver a rousing tribute to the classic sounds of aggression on
Poison Everything, an album that owes as much to
Black Flag as it does
Motörhead. Although the band isn't doing anything new, there's something viscerally exciting about the album, which blends equal parts teeth-grinding speed with unfiltered aggression, resulting in an intoxicating blend of old-school, circle pit-inducing punk fury. It's clear that
Obliterations have a great reverence for the bands that came before them, and fans of the hardcore revival will find plenty to love on
Poison Everything. ~ Gregory Heaney
