The 20th anniversary of
Project Pitchfork's debut album, Dhyani, may have arrived in 2011, but
Project Pitchfork do not spend too much time resting on their laurels: only one year after their last record,
Continuum Ride, and a few months after their retrospective release
First Anthology, the band and its mastermind,
Peter Spilles, offer a new album titled
Quantum Mechanics. The ten new tracks (only one of which runs under five minutes, while the single "Lament" clocks in at seven and a half) continue the band's dark electro sound, with atmospheric synths and
Spilles' processed vocals over club-oriented beats. The book-sized limited edition adds a second CD with two new songs, three remixes, and an instrumental track. ~ Christian Genzel
