Elan are a Mexican rock band that made waves by being one of the first bands from their country to enjoy commercial success singing almost exclusively in English. However, on their 2009 album
Recuerdos y Tequila, the members of
Elan pay tribute to their culture and the Latin artists who influenced them by recording an album entirely in Spanish for the first time. Dominated by covers of songs by celebrated Mexican artists,
Recuerdos y Tequila includes the selections "Al Lado del Camino," "Pero Te Extraño," "Que Seas Feliz," "Tu Recuerdo y Yo," "Clandestino," and eight others.
