While
Rise doesn't really offer anything new in terms of innovation to the world of rap-metal, there are some points of promise that weigh the scales slightly in its favor. The obligatory themes of frustration and angst are consistent throughout, as is the juxtaposition of DJ skills over emo start/stop dynamics. But what makes
Rise something enjoyable to listen to is the quality of the production and attention to detail that the guys employ throughout. There's really no sense of filler material, as each track appears to have been constructed with great care. It's easily their most focused and accomplished work to date. ~ Rob Theakston
