Melodic indie pop/rock band
the Buddyrevelles start off their debut,
September, November, with the fuzzy "C'est Super," a song full of twists and turns. Despite the occasional turn toward upbeat pop, the music rarely reaches a seething pace. There's an exception to every rule, and one such exception is the punky "Morse Code." More often than not, though, the guitars are tamed down and the drums set the foundation, rarely reaching a blistering level. On "Death of the Buddyrevelles," the band balances on the math rock fence. Some of the slower songs are on par with some songs by fellow Texas band
Silver Scooter. Aaron Grant leads the way on vocals, guitar, and keyboards, while Scott Hoch adds bass and drummer Dan Reinholdt fills out the trio. Matt Lee and Dave Ewald appear as guest musicians.
September, November was recorded at Servascack Studios.
