The Agenda! sound like the type of group that would end all their sentences with exclamation points. They pound out their songs with such unrelenting intensity that it seems like lead vocalist Justin (or Ian and Ryan on "Hard Friends!" and "No More Dancing!," respectively) is howling right in your face while the band hammers you mercilessly over the head with bass, drums, guitar, and organ. Indeed, they try a bit too hard to be energetic; a little more subtlety and variation, not to mention some more memorable songs, might make this album more interesting. Their "modcore" sound, which combines mod and '60s garage with '70s punk and hardcore, isn't strikingly original, but the band delivers on the raucousness promised by those exclamation points. If you aren't necessarily looking for classic songs and enjoy hearing someone scream his lungs out over a powerful rock & roll beat, then songs like "Burn It Again!" are made to order for you. ~ Todd Kristel
