You've had a debut album go double platinum; what do you do for a follow-up? If you're
Slaughter, you release
Stick It Live, a live EP of the most popular tracks from the debut ("Burnin' Bridges," "Eye to Eye," "Fly to the Angels," "Loaded Gun," "Up All Night"). As a way of buying time, it's not a bad idea, but considering that it followed a mere nine months after the debut's release, its appearance is a little mystifying. That said, the EP isn't half bad -- there's just as much polish here as on the studio versions, with a little more "raw" edge to the performances that will make it of interest to hardcore fans. But anyone who isn't a hardcore fan won't find much of interest here. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
