Sun Stare Sound is the third long-player by the noise pop supergroup the Megaphonic Thrift out of Bergen, Norway. Following a debut that drew comparisons to Sonic Youth, and a more aggressive eponymous sophomore effort, the album curtails some of the chaos while retaining plenty of swimmy effects, melodicism, and crunchy hooks. Trippy album highlight "Interlopers" features beats that skitter, guitars that shimmer, and hummable lead vocals shared by Richard Mykleburst and Linn Frøkedal. With production by Jørgen Træen (Jaga Jazzist, Datarock), Sun Stare Sound went on to win a Spelleman Award (Norway's Grammys) for best in the indie category.
