I-f's second album in as many years and the first full-length artist's release on the Interdimensional Transmissions label,
The Man from P.A.C.K. is substantially more stripped down than much of
I-f's other recent work. Still, the bouncy basslines are there, though somewhat subdued, and the thin electronics that back gated, snapping snares are unmistakable. The album takes a few additional listens to appreciate properly, but it's the equal of the comparatively more gripping
Fucking Consumer once inside. "Secret Desire," "The Getaway Scene," and "Midnight Connection to Mars" are particularly impressive. The CD version features a number of non-LP bonus cuts. ~ Sean Cooper
