The Pieces Fit, Pearl Barrett and Jeanette Herdman's first effort at continuing the duo
Considering Lily, isn't a total failure. It isn't a total success either. The duo would better served if they kept their producers away from the synthesizers the next time they hit the studio. Most of the tracks are just too much. The tinny overtones and laser beams don't enhance the music; they just make it difficult to hear the real business of
Considering Lily: their vocals and songwriting. The album kicks off with the catchy "Great Expectations," then follows with "Today," a prime example of the techno-laden tracks that plague the album. "What I Was Made For" has good lyrics. "Electric" is creative, innovative, and is probably what the duo meant their album to be. The track even allows their vocals to peek through. "The Pieces Fit" is by far the best track of the album, with its stripped down, balanced arrangement, but it just isn't enough to redeem the album as whole. ~ Melinda Hill
