A duet with
MC Lyte on "I'm Not Havin' It" and some underground compilation appearances led to
Positive K's 1992 debut for 4th & Broadway, and it features another song where
Positive K has female troubles. "I Got a Man" hit the top of the rap singles chart in 1993 and even reached number 14 on the pop chart, giving him the most success he'd ever enjoy. The remainder of the album has more of a hard edge to it, with the
Big Daddy Kane-produced "Nightshift" and the downright raw "Carhoppers" and "One 2 the Head" adding dimensions to the album. There's much more to this album than a fluke hit. ~ Andy Kellman
