The problem with
Throwback Soul isn't the material included on it. Most of these certified hits from
Lakeside,
Cameo,
Con Funk Shun, and
the Ohio Players pack as much punch as they did when they were originally released. As with its sister release, the very similar
Throwback Funk, only ten songs are included, and most of them appear in inferior single-edit versions. Not only that, but the packaging is extremely cheap, even by budget-release standards. The only condition under which the disc will be useful to you is if it just happens to include all of the songs from these groups that you need. What are the odds of that?
