Working in a more fractured, extroverted production style after the moods and grooves of 1999's
After the Night,
Justin Berkovi continued to show his usual flair for transforming the various sounds and styles of techno into intriguing, fresh tracks. He gets right into it with the opener "Dark Caress," a clinical big beat stomp that only gradually moves into more melancholy territory. "Temptress" is a near-perfect down-tempo track, and the blip-techno of "Let It Inside" is another highlight. As with some of
Berkovi's previous work, though, these tracks are very up-tempo for home listening, but far too difficult to envision getting much club play.
