This fun, independent 1999 release has the loose collaborative feel of old-school underground hip-hop jams, which is to say it consists mostly of funky breaks and an assortment of rappers taking turns on the mic. The opening track, “Dangerous,” which loops the bass line from Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust,” is a case in point, as is the booty-moving “Slam the Funk.” MCs Tony Rebel, Dominator, Prophecy, Tee Dre, Triple C, and others make appearances under the moniker of the Underworld 805 Family, but regardless of who's dropping the rhymes and the beats the end result is a good time.
