This is one of the less significant
Maynard Ferguson albums but the music is still fairly enjoyable. Accompanied by the German Rolf Hans Muller Orchestra in Dec. 1967, the great trumpeter sticks mostly to ballads, showcasing his tone and sometimes his range with restraint and an accent on lyricism. The music is enjoyable enough but not too essential. With the exception of one obscure record,
Ferguson would not record again for over two years when he started his commercial comeback with Columbia. ~ Scott Yanow
