Rudy Adrian performs excellently in two styles of e-music and he has two series to facilitate his diversity -- Sequencer Sketches and Atmospheric Works. The former is for his Berlin school releases. The latter is for his more ambient and minimalist efforts.
Twilight: Atmospheric Works, Vol. 2 is a very smooth and sleek album.
Adrian's atmospheres are dense and foggy. He augments his drifting style with light sequences and programmed percussion. But the atmospheres dominate the soundscape. Experimental sounds compliment and round out the set. There are overt references to
Tangerine Dream's more ambient Virgin-era releases. This disc will appeal to fans of those CDs and to fans of Ron Boots,
Ian Boddy, and
Craig Padilla. ~ Jim Brenholts
