In 1997, Philippine all-female pop group
Prettier Than Pink released their second album,
UnPink. The band's first album, 1995's
Prettier Than Pink, featured pleasant pop music and contained the radio hit "Cool Ka Lang" (Just Be Cool). For this album, the band contains five members instead of the four members on the first album. The band members play their own instruments, but their instruments aren't specified, nor are the band members named. Judging from the album photos, though, it appears some members have left the group and others have joined. As before, heard are drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards, as well as vocals. Overall, the music of
UnPink is more adventurous than the music of the band's first album. The opening cut, "Nag-Iisa" (All Alone), for example, is a thrilling rock-jazz outing. The song is entirely instrumental and features exciting organ lines and searing guitar solos, all topped on a funky backbeat. This song is an eye opener.
