Some string quartet tribute albums work nicely, depending on the group/material that the quartet is working with. Depending on the timbre and cadence of the original material, it can turn compositions on their head and have listeners approach the songs from under a different light. Unfortunately, this is not the case here, as the
String Quartet Tribute to Korn simply falls flat on its face before the starting gun even sounds. The performers are obviously well-intentioned, but the songs somehow lose their impact and intensity when translated into such an environment. This is one for novelty seekers and really ridiculously die-hard
Korn fans to check out. ~ Rob Theakston
