Glenn Phillips is a master of the bent. To be more specific, he is great at bending guitar strings. Though he has never reached the international guitar hero status of
Steve Vai or
Joe Satriani,
Phillips can hold his own.
Phillips, who shouldn't be confused with the similarly named former lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket, captures different moods on
Walking Through Walls by using different tones and effects on the guitar. This is really not rock or jazz or new age, but it is still a very good instrumental album. ~ Tim Griggs
