1PLIKÉ140

Born in 2001, 1pliké140 is a Comorian-born French rapper from the neighborhood of La Plaine in Clamart. Inspired by hip-hop collective Lyonzon and UK drill, 1pliké140 started uploading a series of freestyles titled #Batard to his video streaming channel in late 2019 and early 2020, quickly becoming the poster child of drill in France. His first album, 1pliktoi arrived in June 2020 and racked up millions of plays across streaming platforms. It was followed by 1pliktoi (Vol. 2) six months later. After appearing on Carbozo’s Carbozo Vol. 1 and Bossmrl’s La Haine, 1pliké140 scored another winner with the standalone single “Tranquillement,” which also accumulated streams by the millions. His third LP Arrêtez-Le! arrived in 2021 and so did the single “Belek,” a menacing drill number that managed to break into the French Top 200. A second installment of the Arrêtez-Le! series came out in 2022 and became his highest-charting effort by reaching Number 7 on the French Albums Chart. ©Copyright Music Story Evelyn Duskey 2022
