With his penchant for hard hitting lyrics glazed over infectious Afro influenced hip hop beats, Alexx’s come up is undoubtedly noticeable among his peers, fans and critics alike. Described as a “True Poet”, Alexx displays his societal consciousness and lyrical dexterity on tracks such as the 2019 "JT Tom Flexx" where he laments the heinous brutality perpetrated by the unscrupulous SARS unit of the Nigerian police force. Somewhat of a preacher he is, as a lot of what he said in that song came to pass during the 2020 nationwide #EndSARS protests calling for the Nigerian government to proscribe the killer police unit. In a 2020 interview with Kwame Dhops, Alexx describes his music as “a reflection of the realities of a Nigerian, or better still, an African youth with overwhelming dreams but with insurmountable hope…” Alexx is an independent artist and currently releases music under his personal independent imprint “True indeed”. He has hinted that his debut EP is set for release soon.
