Argèn "ĀR RÄ" Lawson was born on January 2nd, 1991 in Richmond, Virginia. He was 12 years old when his father became heavily addicted to drugs, leaving his single mother to raise him and his 2 siblings. Though he did not struggle academically, AR repeatedly got into trouble, resulting in him dropping out of school in the seventh grade (2004). He quickly became the man of the house. He obtained his barber’s license from a government funded program in his community (2008). In 2009 he was charged with grand larceny for check fraud among other charges, sending his close friend to prison for 2 years, for a firearm recovered during their bust. In 2012, he was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. And again in 2014, along with cocaine possession and a firearm. His lawyer urged him to take a plea deal, placing AR in a special program that would only hold him for a year. After being incarcerated for 3 of those 12 months, he was charged again with grand larceny. In 2017, AR started Osothecrew Entertainment, honoring his late friend Jaquan Brown-Harris. He began his rap career with his first project, Don't Forget The Ra. Since then, AR has received cultural sponsorships from the likes of BMW, Boost Mobile, and Cirrus Vodka.

He is currently signed with AWAL & United Masters for digital distribution.
