Arthemesia

Arthemesia

Although formed in 1995 by vocalist Valtias Mustatuuli and guitarist Routa Salomeri, Finnish black/dark metal band Arthemesia (originally named Celestial Agony) didn't record their first demo until three years later, when additional members Jari "Arbaal" Mäenpää (guitar), Jukka-Pekka Miettinen (bass), and Oliver Fokin (drums) joined the cause. More demos followed, but the group continually struggled to get a wind in their sails, as various members' dallied with other projects (Ensiferum, Cadacross, etc.). A 2001 album called Devs - Iratvs was eventually cobbled together from these demos, but by the time 2004's ShamaNatahs LP finally emerged, the true status of Arthemesia's career was anyone's guess. One thing that was certain, and that was multi-instrumentalist Jari Mäenpäa's departure to form a new project named Wintersun. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
